Chicago Snowpocalypse 2011

Chicago has experienced some greater than average snow fall in the last 24 hours (about 2 FT), and the entire city has been hibernating.  My office was closed and I had the luxury of working from home today.  That said, there were still a few cyclists on major roads, but most of the side streets were impassable.

Check out the people cross-country skiing down the street in my neighborhood!

  1. Hey! Portland copyrighted Snopocyalypse back in '08! No fair! ;-)

Definitely looks like a day for XCountry Skiing. Hopefully the bike lanes will magically melt in the next few days...

  2. I should have stuck with Snowapalooza since that is a Chicago only festival now ;) My friend had some pretty great snow snow"isms" like: Snowtorious B.I.G. and snow problem (just to name a few).

Anyone else got some good ones??

  5. We like Blizzaster. There were so many snowed in bikes in our neighborhood. I think they are much easier to shovel out than the cars.

  6. I like Snowtorious B.I.G, but I think Blizzaster gets my vote!
